Whoops!

Part of our back yard

Today's blog post is inspired by the word "whoops".  So why, you ask, am I showing you a picture of our back yard?  Well....keep reading my friends.....  LOL

It seems there are never-ending projects going on at my house.  When the days are longer and the weather is warmer, we venture outside on the weekends to work on said projects.  Well, *I* don't per se, but my hubby does.  (I'm not handy when it comes to sawing, hammering, ripping decks down etc...)  But I can mow the grass!  YES!  Yes I can!  It helps him out and it is something I can do with out thinking much about it.  I try to push mow for the exercise, but it is broken at the moment so I've been ride mowing lately.

So yesterday after the grocery run, I go out to mow while hubby was at Home Depot.  I got it started and as soon as the blades went down it would shut off.  Hmmm  (totally clueless here)  So unfortunately I had to let it sit till he came home.  Guess it just doesn't like me because he got it going.  (He mentioned I had the cut level down too far or something like that)  GREAT!  Now I can get it mowed and out of the way.

He left it running for me and I hopped on and went on my merry way.  After about two swipes I noticed that he was walking over to me.  He asked if I knew I didn't have the blades down.  UM NO?!  Yea, so there you have it.  I was mowing the grass with no blades.  Just riding around. LOL!  Oh man...well after I sat there and laughed at myself for a minute, I put the blades down and continued on.

I have to say that is the first time I ever did that!  No really, it is...honest!  So there was my "whoops" from the weekend.

Tell me about a "whoops" that you had...I can't be the only one out there!

Let's go!

I add spice to my life by.......  Going to concerts.  Yep.  At 44 years old I am still going to concerts.  I am a music freak and there is nothing better than going to see your favorite band play LIVE!  wheeeeeee!

Bacon is......  OH SO YUMMY!  I love bacon!  And if left alone with a crispy pound, I'm not afraid to admit I would eat it all.  :)  But I save it for an every once and awhile treat.  It does not love me as much as I love it.

The perfect meal......  is Thanksgiving Dinner.  OH BABY!  My family has wonderful tradition-like foods that we love.  And we cook them every year!  I let myself enjoy that meal with no restriction.  HA!

My favorite food to grill is.......  A juicy burger.  mmmm nothing like it.

I beat the heat by........ well my first choice would be to jump in the ocean, but since there isn't one in my back yard, I'd have to say by drinking plenty of fluids and visiting our local pool.  (or stay inside with the air conditioning LOL!)

It's your turn!  How would you answer these?

The older I get, the more time flies

This little clock is cruising along on a paper plane.  It's cute, but I chose this picture because that is how I view "time" the older I get.  It just keeps flying right on by quicker each year.

I can remember as a kid how summer break seemed to go on FOREVER!  We'd play with our friends outside till dark, go to Brookside Pool (locals, remember that pool beside Long's Park?) and visit our favorite beach in Sea Isle City, NJ.

Just today, I'm sitting here at my desk and wondering how it got to be almost Christmas-time already!  I mean, really.  I feel like I was just in Corolla, NC with my best friend in August on a fabulous vacation.

Then of course, the more time flies, the older I'm getting too.  I sometimes forget how old I am.  Till I get up and the aches and pains remind me.  :-)  And as I'm aging, so are my parents!

So I decided that being adult is really overrated and I'd really like to go back to crayoning, doing my latch hook rug, my paint-by-numbers and body surfing ocean waves in to shore.  If you need me, you know where I'll be....in my fort made of blankets.

Merry Christmas!
